My name is Patrick Welby (or "Pwelbs") and I am a music industry thinker determined to use my ears to create new opportunities for artists and unique experiences for music fans. I have a passion for architecting and producing special events, experiential marketing, brand activations, concerts and other productions.
I'm an account architect and producer for Pro-Ject, a micro agency and influencer event networking series. I co-founded Music Supervision Co., a full-service agency that curates sonic identities for businesses, brands and products. I'm a Special Events Producer at ESP Presents, a boutique consultancy firm. I co-founded These Days, a Chicago-based news outlet comprised of some of the most consistent voices working in and around the arts and music scene in the Midwest and beyond.
I'm an associate member of The Recording Academy's (Grammys) Chicago Chapter, member of Chicago Ideas Week's The Co-op group and a member of The Evening Associates of The Art Institute of Chicago.
I was born and raised in Minneapolis and have lived in Chicago since 2007.
I also managed Chicago funk rock band whysowhite and their assets. The group has amassed over 300K+ streams and toured over 300+ shows with acts ranging from George Clinton to Macklemore. Previously, I founded CrowdNoize LLC - a tech-start up based out of Chicago incubator 1871 that collects, analyzes and reports data where crowds gather.
